Smash the Patriarchy

“Smash the Patriarchy” is a 2D short animation crafted entirely by hand, frame by frame, using Krita and DaVinci Resolve. It portrays the challenging daily realities, fears, and the systemic oppression and violence faced by women. In a society where survival issues are paramount, tragic events and crimes in Greece, often with the complicity of the state, exacerbate the sense of discomfort. Specically for women, the dangers and pressures they encounter are doubled. Sexist comments, harassment, rape, and femicides are almost commonplace. This animatio serves as a powerful commentary on the urgency of addressing these issues and challenging the prevailing norms, inviting viewers to confront and dismantle the patriarchal structures that perpetuate inequality and violence.
