Pénte
Pénte is a performance symbolizing geographical transition, grief, ancestral ties, and the body’s five extremities. It pays tribute to recent losses due to political turmoil amplifying the human voice and ancestral connections. Across the performance, we traverse the roots of the olive tree, connecting the cultural dimensions of Greece and Lebanon: both blessed by nature yet corrupted by politics. Athens serves as a link where human struggles meet. Both water and land bear witness of collective memory. If these elements could speak, what stories would they tell? What melodies would they sing? What grievances would they voice? The coastline of Beirut, haunted by the echoes of the port, wrestles with enduring pain, while Athens’ shores strive to maintain the flow of water and life.
