Anastasis Panagis Meletis
Anastasis Panagis Meletis, also known as Panas, is a visual artist, performer and director that lives and works in Athens, Greece. In 2022 they acquired an Intergraded Master in Fine Arts at the Athens School of Fine Arts. In his work, Panas often combines digital media, installations, constructions, painting, performative actions and costume design to create fragmented mythological environments and hybrid bodies. His research encompasses themes such as the post-digital era, ecology, queer archaeology, and issues of gender, sexuality, and inequality. Through his artistic practice, he explores cultural remnants, aiming to bring to light the psychological and social processes that contribute to the formation of identities. In 2023 he focused his practice on the development of his first short film “the Wooden Dear”, which currently is in the final stages of post-production. His work has been exhibited in project spaces, institutions and venues like: P.S. Communitism (2023), Okay Space (2022), Performance Rooms (2022), Cantina Antisocial (2022), Athens School of Fine Arts (2022), HEAD 2 HEAD festival (2021), Art Athina Online (2021), Michalis Kakogiannis Foundation (2018) and the European Cultural Center of Delphi (2017). He has also worked for artists such as Dimitris Papaioannou (Transverse Orientation, 2021) and collaborated as a performer with Nikos Navrides (Noli me Tangere, 2019), Panos Sklavenitis (Cargo, 2019) and Marios Stamatis (Tnugdal’s Decent, 2024).
