Reid Ballard

Reid Ballard is the Director of Exhibitions and Collections at the Shigeko Kubota Video Art Foundation. From 2006-2010 he worked for Sotheby’s international import/export department, becoming familiar with international shipping law, and innovating best practice shipping processes for high value sculpture. From 2010-2015 he worked for Christie’s auction house, overseeing the newly created Private Sales department state of the art warehouse. In addition to managing the warehouse, this role included managing all private sale exhibit installations, private viewings, photoshoots and shipments. From 2015-2017 he worked for Gagosian Gallery, similarly managing their fine art warehouse and exhibit installations throughout all locations. In 2017 he moved to the non-profit sector, accepting a position at the Shigeko Kubota Video Art Foundation. This current role includes management of warehousing and artwork restoration, shipping, exhibit installation, archive management, cataloging, database upkeep, photography, and copyright licensing. The role also includes advisory responsibilities for all operations and acquisitions related projects.
