Jose Sánchez

José Sánchez is an animator and self-taught artist. He has a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Costa Rica, majoring in Graphic Design. His love for the art of animation led him to work in important animation studios in Japan, Spain and USA. However, due to his passion for art, he has always kept producing Time-Based Art pieces parallel to his studio work, and this work has allowed him to experiment within aesthetics, animation, sound and technology. Throughout his practice he has developed a special interest in abstract design with subtle figurative forms as a second layer of meaning. Abstraction as a rich source of experimentation and figuration as a storytelling element. He is currently dedicated to gathering all the knowledge he has learned over the years in art, 3D animation, programming, editing, special effects and pushing it towards his emerging artistic production.
